Pediatric ophthalmology or treatments methods or techniques for treating children is one of the branches of ophthalmology that concerns mainly with treating the various ophthalmic problems in children belonging various age groups from just born to teens.

The child undergoes simple tests to advanced tests if necessary depending on the condition of the eye which demands. These test can take from few minutes to few hours if necessary. These methods are highlighted below
If advanced tests are required eye drops are put to the child’s eyes to cause pupil dilation and widen, or dilate, so that the inside of the eye is visible to assess more accurately. Then ophthalmologist will use equipment to look at the interior of the eyes to see if there are any problems and to determine further course of action of treatment.
Electrophysiological tests of eye care involve tests done through Electroretinography (ERG) and visual evoked potential (VEP), which mostly evaluates the proximal visual pathway and rod-cone system. There are different waveforms in these tests which help to diagnose different eye conditions but also help the prognosis process of the treatment of the eyes.
